Rules
By connecting to Desteria, you agree to all of the rules below.
Desteria strives to be an enjoyable and safe environment for all those in our community. To achieve this, we have formulated specific rules and corresponding punishments that are enforced by our staff team. If you see an individual neglecting any of the following and there are no staff members present, then make sure to submit a player report.
If you feel you were punished for an invalid reason, we must ask you to refrain from making a commotion and instead submit an appeal in the correct section.
Staff can punish for extended lengths of time depending on severity, and some rules may not be documented on this page.
Evasion of a mute or ban through the use of an alternate Minecraft account is not allowed, and will result in an extension of the current punishment by one level applied to both accounts. For example, if a player is muted for 4 hours, then evades the mute on an alternate account, both accounts will then be muted for 12 hours.
Players are expected to familiarize themselves with the rules upon utilizing any of our services:
"I didn't know that was against the rules"
This will not be accepted as an appeal or excuse in any case.
You are responsible for your account, and thus anyone who can get on it. This means any punishments issued to your account while another player is using it are linked to your account.
Furthermore, pretending to break any offense, such as but not limited to creating fake server IP addresses, website links or pretending to use a hacked client will end up in punishments being issued.
Forging evidence of any kind will result in an immediate blacklist pending investigation.
"My sibling logged into my account and did that"
This is not a valid excuse and will not be accepted in an appeal. If there is any way of proving this, please reach out to the staff member that punished you.
"I do not see the rule I was banned for"
If you are banned for a rule that isn't stated on this page, it still is a ban that counts and you will not be pardoned because of that.
* Any chat messages caught by the filters or any chat otherwise not seen to the public can still be moderated, and senders are held accountable to all the rules.
Faction Rules
Definitions:
- Core Claims - The usable space inside your claims, usually surrounded by walls
- Buffer Claims - The chunks directly around your core claims, usually walls, that you are allowed to claim
Rules:
- Factions may make as many buffer claims as able to with power they are given, however the core claims and buffer claims of a base must be claimed by the same faction
- Factions may only have one corner claim
- Cobble-monsters are not allowed
- Roof cannons (Ex AC130) are not allowed
- Insiding is allowed
Tier 1 Rules
Violations of Tier 1 rules will follow the following punishment scale:
4h mute -> 12h mute -> 24h mute - > 24h ban -> 3d ban -> 7d ban. Warnings may be given out at discretion of the staff team.
Spam - No character spam, or chat message spam (more than 3 messages in quick succession). This includes the use of any command that may spam another player's chat.
Political or Religious Discussion - In order to maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone, discussion involving religion or politics should be kept out of public chat.
Foreign Languages - Desteria's native language is English. Please refrain from using any other language in public chat so we can properly moderate chat.
Discrimination - Attacks made on one's identity (particularly, gender, sexuality, race, disability status, or other traits) in public chat will not be tolerated. No warnings will be given.
Inappropriate Content - Desteria's public chat is not the place to discuss or share mature content.
Threats & Suggestive Comments - Any statement that suggest harm should come to another user, their family, friends, or any other such aspect of their life that is not a part of Minecraft will result in immediate punishment.
Impersonation - Impersonating a staff member through a similar username or nickname. This includes claiming to be an current or former staff member when you are not.
Foreign Trades - Do not advertise trades that involve external goods or currencies. Desteria cannot guarantee your safety if you choose to partake in these trades, and we will not middle man these trades.
Tier 2 Rules
Violations of Tier 2 rules will follow the following punishment scale:
1d ban -> 3d ban -> 7d ban -> 14d ban -> 30d ban
DoS Threats / Dox Threats / Hack Threats / Swat Threats - Threatening to DoS, dox, hack, or swat another player will result in an immediate ban. NOTE: Punishment severity may be increased to Tier 3 depending on the situation.
Inappropriate Display - Any form of vulgar, sexual, or illegal drug related topics portrayed by a skin, cape, item, build, or sign.
NOTE: Users with inappropriate usernames or skins will be permanently banned. These bans may be appealed once the username or skin has been changed.
Advertisements - Advertising other servers (through IP addresses, Discord invites, etc) in public chat will not be tolerated. If the rule violator is clearly not a player of Desteria and their only intent is to siphon players from our network, a permanent ban may be issued.
Illegal Trapping - Any trap that doesn't allow the victim to die, escape, or teleport out once the trapper leaves is considered an illegal trap. This includes any traps that cause the trapped player to take damage without player involvement. (suffocation, redstone contraptions)
Bug/Glitch/Exploit Abuse - Abuse of a feature which is clearly unintended/clearly provides an unfair advantage to the abuser is not allowed. If you discover a bug/exploit/glitch, please immediately report it in the #support channel in the discord.
NOTE: Inappropriate use of in-game plugins or commands to cause spam or other mischiefs will result in a kick, and then a 24h temp ban. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Blocking signs other players need to access
- Spamming Factions commands
- Using Faction commands to evade your mute
- Using faction names to break or bypass rules (blatantly offensive faction names are instantly banned for)
- Minor offenses for causing lag within the server with entities etc. (depending on the severity, read the note)
NOTE: Higher punishment durations may be dolled out as the situation calls for based on the severity of the glitch abused and the gameplay consequences involved.
Tier 3 Rules
Violations of Tier 3 Rules will follow the following punishment scale:
30d ban -> 60d -> Blacklist
Illegal Modifications / Unfair advantage - Using any modification, client, or other software that gives the player an unfair advantage over others are strictly prohibited. Examples include (but are not limited too) hacked clients, ghost clients, auto clickers, and mods on the illegal modification list.
Tier 4 Rules
Violations of Tier 4 Rules will result in an immediate blacklist.
DoS Attacks / DOXing / Hack Attempts / Swatting - All of these will result in an immediate blacklist.
Malicious Links - Posting links in any chat that are designed to infect the user's computer with malware or log their IP address warrants an immediate blacklist.
