  • Tier One Offences
Punishments are automatically calculated based on your personal 30 day offense history.
    4h mute
    2nd: 24h mute
    3rd: 48h mute
    4th: 24h ban
    5th: 7d ban
    6th+: 14d ban

    | Harassment or Pessimism
The act of badgering or pestering of another (player or staff) after being warned or being asked to stop. If you continue after this point, you will be punished. Furthermore, constructive criticism has its place, but overtly negative or pessimistic statements serve no purpose and are not welcome in public chat.

In addition to this rule, continuously harassing staff members in private messages is also punishable by a mute, as staff are not able to /ignore users.

Note: If you continue harassing someone after waiting a period of time (hours or days), you may still be punished for it.

    | Spamming
Do not spam or flood the chat with content meant specifically to drown out others or make it harder for staff to moderate chat. Mistakes do happen, so staff will warn globally for spam once. If you continue after this warning, you will be punished.

    Categorizations of "spam":
    • Rapid posting of the same or similar message.
    • Excessive use of the same or similar characters. Excessive in this case is determined by the staff member, but is typically with anything above 5 characters in a row or when characters are used in rapid succession to create a longer than need-be string. (Ex: Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , Hhhheelllooo!!!)
    • Organizing a group of players (often a faction) to post very close to each other in order to move chat up at an unreasonably high rate compared to normal flow.
    • Bribing or convincing others to break the Rules. (Ex: "Say a number from 1-100 in public chat to win a prize!") - these games are fine as long as the responses are sent in PM's.
    • Spamming Staff Members in Private Messages.
    • Spam bots cannot be used in any form and will result in a T3 punishments.

    | IRL Money Scamming and Advertising
Many players have been deceived by others promising to pay them real money if they purchase a donator rank, monthly crate, etc. for them. These sorts of situations where real money is being paid or moved around before you receive anything is dangerous and almost always a scam - we will mute any players who advertise IRL trades but it is up to you to be responsible and aware enough to stay away from these dangerous scams. We value your safety and want to make sure you get what you pay for. All of Desteria's purchases are done through our official webstore. Be safe and don't get scammed!

Note: In-game currency or item scamming is considered legal, so always be careful when trading. If someone doesn't want to use our /trade function, don't pursue the trade at all!

    | Respect / Filter Evasion
Subjectively offensive words and phrases are part of our server filter (Ex: gay and retarded) and these can be filtered out of chat by making sure your /filter is on, which it is by default. If you attempt to bypass this filter to force others to view words and phrases they personally do not wish to see, you will be punished accordingly.

Note: Overly offensive, blatantly racist terms, and hate speech are instantly muted for. Several words are part of our mutable filter that takes action automatically. We cannot unmute for these offenses since they were issued by the server.

    | Release of Sensitive Information
Due to the sensitivity of names, addresses, etc. being released constantly, we will always lean towards cautionary action being taken as opposed to letting someone continue to release information cryptically or otherwise. We will be overly strict with this rule in particular in accordance with the desire to allow people to keep their anonymity while using our services.

Trying to skate on the edge of this rule will result in you being punished accordingly. Cautionary action can range from deletion of content with warning, mutes, kicks, and bans from any or all of our networks.

Desteria does not recommend releasing any kind of personal information due to how easy it is to obtain someone's location, sensitive information, and other private details from simple facts you may think are harmless by themselves. We encourage everyone to stay as anonymous as possible on the internet since not doing so may result in information being released that you never wanted to be public.

Keep in mind that social media that is found through internet searches is NOT actually "DOX"ing since you've left it openly available for people to find, so please protect yourself by making sure your accounts are all private or not easily searchable via usernames or nicknames. We will only moderate our own servers and are not responsible for information found outside of that.

This rule only applies to Tier 1 Sensitive Information Release. If you're releasing anything sensitive such as IP addresses, full addresses, last names, etc - it will be treated as a Tier 4 punishment regardless of whose information it is.

    | Inappropriate Content
Posting explicit content will result in an immediate mute. Carrying on a conversation about explicit content will result in a warning and punishment if it's continued afterwards.

Note: Explicit content is seen as, but not limited to, sexualized talk & roleplay, disturbing descriptions, describing your sexual experiences or fantasies, any kind of ****ographic or grotesque image or video, explicit website links (safe links that look like explicit links will be punished for as well), or anything of similar nature that isn't specifically mentioned here.

    | Threats or Suggestive Comments
Any statement made that suggests harm will or should come to another user, their family, friends, property, pets, or any other such aspect of their life that is NOT a part of Minecraft will result in immediate punishment.

    Tier Two Offences
Punishments are scaled based on the amount of punishments you've received in the last 6 months.
    7d ban
    2nd: 14d ban
    3rd+: 30d ban

    | Advertisements
Advertising other servers in any form through public chat. Whether or not the IP is an actual IP, if it is structured as an IP address, or if it is a Discord link that goes to another server's discord, we will treat it as a functional address and you will be punished.

Encouraging other players to join another server will result in a tempban.
    • NOTE: If the rule violator is clearly not a player of Desteria and their only intent is to siphon players from our network, their offense will be met with a permanent ban.
    | Illegal Trapping
Any trap that doesn’t allow the victim to die, escape, or teleport out once the trapper leaves. All legal traps cannot force the trapped player to suffocate or take damage automatically with no player involvement. Fall traps do not fall under "automatic damage".

    | Abusing Glitches, Bugs or Exploits
Abuse of any exploit or bug found within the game may result in punishment. The only time interaction with bugs will be tolerated is when you have explicit permission from the Staff Team to be recreating them towards the purpose of it being fixed.

NOTE: Inappropriate use of in-game plugins or commands to cause spam or other mischiefs will result in a kick, and then a 24h temp ban. Examples include but are not limited to:
    • Blocking signs other players need to access
    • Spamming Factions commands
    • Using Faction commands to evade your mute
    • Using faction names to break or bypass rules (blatantly offensive faction names are instantly banned for)
    • Minor offenses for causing lag within the server with entities etc. (depending on the severity, read the note)
NOTE: Higher punishment durations may be dolled out as the situation calls for based on the severity of the glitch abused and the gameplay consequences involved.

    | Base Leeching Rule
Breaking the Base Leeching rule specified in Faction Rules will result in a kick first as a warning, and a 1d ban afterwards if continued.

    | Alt Account Usage
It is against our rules to use alternative accounts during raids or to defend your base. Alt accounts found on walls will be kicked and banned temporarily for 24 hours if caught again.

    Tier Three Offences
Punishments are scaled based on the amount of punishments you've received in the last 6 months.
    30d ban
    2nd: 60d ban
    3rd+: 90d ban

    | Dos Threats // Dox Threats // Hack Threats // Swat Threats
    • DoS Threats:
      • Threats of an attack that will be made against other users’ internet or any of Desteria’s servers.
    • DoX Threats
      • Threats of information release including users’ picture, social media accounts, full names, exact addresses, schools, IP addresses or any other information deemed private and/or sensitive by the Staff Team.
    • Hack Threat:
      • Threats made claiming the perpetrator will implant malware on another user’s computer or to break into one of their accounts.
    • Swat Threats
      • Threatening to send law enforcement to other users’ residence.

    | Illegal Cannons
Players involved in construction or firing of an illegal cannon will be met with a punishment in addition to the according Gameplay Rule punishment. Please refer to the Gameplay Rules under "Illegal Cannons" for more information on additional punishments.

    | Spam Bots
Spam bots will result in the chat being locked until the user, along with all associated accounts, are banned from the network. In order to keep your alt accounts from accidentally spamming the chat, please use the command /f global to turn off your ability to use public chat.

Note: Using spam bots in private channels will result in the same punishment.

    | Offensive or Inappropriate Names or Skins
Any user with a name or skin that is discriminatory, offensive, or derogatory in any way will be banned indefinitely until they change their name or skin. At that point in time they will be unbanned upon appeal. This rule will be handled with the discretion of the involved Staff Member(s). We are aware that this can be inconvenient, so you are allowed to play on any other alt accounts you may have while the offending account is banned. You should not be banned for ban evasion if you were punished for breaking this rule.

    | Illegal Modification // Hacked Clients
Use of, or logging on with a Hacked Client on Desteria will warrant an immediate ban even if you aren’t using it. Use of any modifications to your game which would give you an advantage in gameplay, combat, factions, building, survival, etc, that others would not have reasonable means of obtaining themselves without said modifications is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, any modification that undermines the server’s intended functioning of plugins, features, perks, etc, are also prohibited. If you aren’t sure about the legality of a mod you’re using, ask a Moderator or higher before using the mod or client.

    | Illegal Patching
Making use of Gen Buckets or printer in order to defend an active raid will result in immediate punishment. The usage of Printer and Sandbots outside of cannons and raiding purposes are also illegal. For more detail - read Gameplay Rules and Regulations. A raid remains active for defenders 5 minutes after the last shot. Video proof must be provided if you wish to report someone for patching during an active raid, which must show the user witnessing the TnT explode or his walls being destroyed and patching it within a 5 minute window afterwards.

    | Insiding or Betraying Addendum
Our faction permission system (/f perms) should give you almost limitless control over who gets permissions and what they're allowed to do. However, we understand that glitches do occur, so if you lose f-top value due to some sort of unintentional feature, we will rollback your f-top. Keep in mind that we will investigate these issues as they are brought up, and if you found to be trying to get free f-top value or deceive staff, you or your faction may be reprimanded.

    Tier Four Offences
Blacklisted users will be removed from all our services. You may appeal Blacklists after 6 months.

    | Malicious Links
Any link that redirects to a malicious site designed to grab your personal information or install malware onto your machine. Examples include but are not limited to:
    • Phishing links
    • IP Grabbers
      • - Here are some examples of IP grabbers, so that you can protect yourself against them. Credit to @Vin for creating this list.
    • Malicious software downloads

    | DoS Attacks // Sensitive Information Leaks // Hack Attempts // Swatting
    • DoS Attacks:
      • Attacks made against other users’ internet or any of Desteria’s servers.
    • DoX Attacks // Sensitive Information Leaks:
      • Release of other users’ picture, social media accounts, full names, exact addresses, schools, IP addresses or any other information deemed private by the Staff Team. If necessary, unique cases will be handled as is appropriate by the Management Team. This rule aims to protect users privacy, not ban new players for not knowing better and harmlessly playing around.
    • Hack Attempts:
      • Attempts made to implant malware on another users’ computer or to break into one of their accounts.
    • Swatting
      • Sending law enforcement to other users’ residence.

    | Chargebacks
In the case of a user charging back a previous purchase, they will immediately be permanently banned from our network.
Should a user lose a charge-back or repay the appropriate amount of money, the ban will be reduced to a 90 day ban for which an un-ban is available to be purchased.
