A Graphical Representation of the Likelihood of

You Finding a Sacred Item

Ok
.

First
. Let me explain the sacred items to those who don't know about them.

The Sacred Items
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
upload_2017-5-20_2-23-42.png
These. These are the sacred items.
Introduced at the beginning of 8.0.
Hidden in 11 random blocks, anywhere at the start of the world.
Done.
Exception
(not in a world-guarded zone)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now. Here's the math.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Blocks in the World

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, so the usable Desteria world is 30k by 30k:
30,000 * 30,000 = 900,000,000 (900 Million)
(The only guess I make)
The average height of the Desteria world is 65 blocks:
900,000,000 * 65 = 58,500,000,000 (58 Billion)
Desteria, with the exception of the spawn castle, is approximately
58.5 billion blocks.
Since there are 11 sacred items:
58,500,000,000 / 11 = 5,318,000,000
So, statistically, whenever you mine "any" block, you have a:
1 in 5,318,000,000
chance of finding a sacred item.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mining Speed

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A minecraft player, mining with Speed_2, Haste_2, and Efficiency_5 will instantly break stone block and your mining speed is only limited by your move speed. In 1 second a player can travel ~7.8 blocks (rounded to 8) which means in that time you would have mined 16 blocks.
With that, we can conclude that your mining speed would be:
16 blocks/second
converting this:
16 * 60 = 942.8 blocks/minute
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

MCMMO Mining Stats

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If a player does nothing but mine cobble,
it would take them 799,500 blocks to do it.
Now we all know this is a large feat.
The number of players that you could level
from
0-1500 mining levels before you
would reach
5,318,000,000 blocks is:
5,318,000,000 / 799,500 = 6,651.6 players (rounded down)
You would be able to level almost 7 times
the current Desteria playerbase before you would find
one sacred item on average.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Bringing it all home

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So.
If we take:
5,318,000,000 / 943 = 5,639,448.6 minutes
5,639,448.6 / 60 = 93,990.8 hours
93,990.8 / 24 = 3,916.3 days
3,916.3 / 365 = 10.7 years
This is the total time it would take one person mining 24hrs a day,
with all of the aforementioned effects on them.
If the work is divided among all 6651 players mining simultaneously,
it would only take them
:
5,639,448.6 / 6651 = 847.9 minutes
93,990.8 / 6651 = 14.1 hours
3,916.3 / 6651 = 0.58 days
10.7 / 6651 = 0.0016 years
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

tl;dr
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are mining by yourself with Speed_2, Haste_2, and Efficiency_5
permanently on you, it would take you 10.7 years of continuous mining
before you would be likely to find one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please appreciate the time that went into making this thread xD
Also. **** spoilers.

You are good at maths aren't you?
And yea, I agree with you they are too hard to find, that's why the content team is working on a new system which @Zone made a thread on.

Why is this in the graphics section?
Also very nice thread, go figure you of all people take the time//effort into making it xD

Which suggested the entire removal of the system.
I'm tossing some ideas in my head about how to re-balance the system to more appropriately distribute the items so they are achievable, and I'll bring these to him when I flesh them out.

1. It has a graphic in it, and it also took me about 2 hours to write and format.
2. Thanks :)

Why not make them just like they used to be then?

Too easy to config your xray to search for emerald blocks and just run around.
They need to be hidden in natural blocks, as extra loot, but it needs to be a % drop chance,
and it needs a bit of a boost.

Im soooo lost... So there are 11 random blocks with OP items? are they anywhere in the world? like just any random block that gives no indication it actually is something? if so what is the point... xD you gave the maths So its kinda hard to get one...

This math seems pretty good except for the chance part, I think it would be more appropriate to divide 11 by 58,500,000,000 then multiply by 100 and say that it's a .0000000188034188% chance to find a sacred weapon

That would work too, I just left it as a fraction of 1/5318000000 because its easier to manipulate to other forms, but that is indeed a good number.

Yep. To my knowledge it can be any block in the world, and at this point the block could be in someone else's claim, so good luck.
